CPC official meets Montenegro Prime Minister

A senior official of the Communist Party of China met here on Friday with the visiting Montenegro Prime Minister and Chairman of the Democratic Party of Socialists Milo Djukanovic, both agreeing to step up cooperation between the two parties.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, welcomed Djukanovic's attendance at the upcoming 2008 Summer Davos forum to be held in north China's Tianjin Municipality.

The CPC would like to "continuously deepen cooperation with the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists, enrich the forms and contents of our exchanges, and further promote comprehensive development of relations between the two nations," Wang said.

Djukanovic congratulated China on the successful hosting of the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics and the launch of the Shenzhou-7 manned space flight.

"Montenegro, as a friend of China, always feels happy for every achievement China makes," said Djukanovic, adding that the Democratic Party of Socialists would like to strengthen cooperation with the CPC.

The two sides also touched upon regional and international issues of common concern.

Chen Fengxiang, deputy head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, also attended the meeting.
